TOO FAST CAR (OR DRIVERS)

The Gold Cup of the Dolomites 2016 - was not a real rally. The specials was too few and short (sometimes very short). The rally was more like a transportation. The organisation was not to what we are used to. The only fun part was the night rally. Since our headlights was faulty - that part was a real challenge!

There were a couple of nice rigs to look at and nice acquaintances with other drivers and owners. For some time ago we did the Classic Marathon (also in Italy) organised by HERO Evenst - that was a state-of-the-art rally in comparision (on all levels).

One of our mates is seeking a proper garage in the center of Stockholm, or absolute close proxy to the city. Enabling space for two classic cars and minor technical maintenance (no hot works). COPPA D'ORO DELLE DOLOMITI 2016 - FINISH

The Gold Cup of the Dolomites (Cortina, Italy) is now finished.

The XK-Racing Jaguar XK150S OTS Competition with Peder Silfverhjelm as driver finished  on 53'rd position among over 80 announced competitors.

Not as good as we hoped for. The car is too fast!

Never the less the car performed well.

The Jaguar XK150S OTS CR (reg# XK150), has resently been deliverad back from the bespoke Motorima Coachbuilders in Sweden. Motorima undertook the restoration of this rare competition XK from 1958. Apart from the correct restoration of the hood, lining up the body and doors, installation of correct fuel cap, panhard rod and trackrods - they put new layers of paint. The car is now stunning and awaiting installation of a refurbished rack & pinion steering column (provided by Trendab Motorsport). Then, this rare XK will be ready for a new racing season.

The well known motor tuning and restoration workshop Trendab Motorsport is expanding with new facilities and engine laboratory. Trendab was established 1968 and is Scandinavian's most recognised workshop for tuning of race- and road car engines. They have extensive knowledge and experience of classic car engines and drivelines (such as Aston Martin, Jaguar, Mesarati, Ferrari and other prestigious car manufacturers. Trendab Motorsprt is situated south of Stockholm in close proxy to E20 motorway at the Nykvarn exit.

COPPA D'ORO DELLE DOLOMITI 2016

The 2016 edition of Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti will take place from July 21st to July 24th 2016. The rally, which took place ten times (1947-1956), was an instant success because of the spectacular landscapes of the Dolomites. The race was launched by Ferruccio Gidoni (president of AC Belluno). The course has always been the same:

303,8 km starting out from Cortina.

The race was a very useful testing ground for the top drivers of the major car makers of the time, who found themselves up against "perfect strangers", as was customary in those days. Amateurs who were no less motivated than the big names in the sport and put up very stiff opposition.

For the 2016 edition, XK Racing will have one team in the contention. A Jaguar XK150 competition roadster from 1958. Piloting by Peder Silfverhjelm.
